| The Put-in-Bay Township
Trustees are inviting all interested property owners on
South Bass Island to attend a public meeting on September
25, 2009 between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Put-in-Bay
Village Hall. The public meeting will be conducted by the
Ottawa County Board of Commissioners, along with the Ottawa
County Board of Health, regarding a proposed connection ban
on household sewage disposal systems on South Bass Island
and ban on commercial systems designed to discharge to
groundwater. As proposed, the connection ban will be
issued by the Director of the Ohio EPA through Finding and
Orders that will regulate or limit the issuance of new or
replacement sewage disposal system permits on South Bass
Island. Draft copies of the proposed Findings and Orders
will be made available during the public meeting. In
addition, a draft copy of the proposed Findings and Orders
can be found on the Ottawa County website (www.co.ottawa.oh.us)

review in person at the Put-in-Bay Library. You may ask
questions about, and provide comments on, the proposed
restrictions during the public meeting. Representatives of
the County, Ohio EPA and the Township will be present to
answer questions during the public meeting. In addition, you
may submit written comments up and until the date of the
public meeting. Written comments need to be submitted to
the Ottawa County Commissioners, 315 Madison Street, Port
Clinton, Ohio 43452.
