Ronald E. Distel, President

Mr. Distel is a Vietnam War Veteran having served on active duty in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1974. He served as an Aircraft Loading Specialist.
Mr. Distel serves as Ottawa County Council American Legion Adjutant and is a member of American Legion Post 279 and VFW Post 8732. He previously held the positions of Commander of American Legion Post 279; Ottawa County Council American Legion Adjutant (4 Terms); Commander of the 1st District, State of Ohio; and member of the American Legion Department of Ohio Executive Board.
Mr. Distel was appointed to the Ottawa County Veterans Service Commission January 2009.

Jack M. Hopfinger, Vice President
American Legion
Mr. Hopfinger is a Korean War Veteran having served on active duty in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952. He served with the 41st Engineer Petroleum Distribution Company and served under The Far East Command for 18 months.
Mr. Hopfinger is a member of Moose Lodge 1610, Elks Club 1718, Eagles Lodge 2295, Life Member of VFW Post 2480, and 53 year member of American Legion Post 113.
He previously held the positions of Trustee of American Legion Post 113; Finance Officer of American Legion Post 113; and President of the 3rd District of County Veteran Service Commissioners.
Mr. Hopfinger has served on the Ottawa County Veterans Service Commission since September 2001.

Elizabeth A. Sutton,
Secretary
Member-at-Large
Mrs. Sutton is a Persian Gulf
War Veteran having served on active duty in the United States
Navy from 1987 to 1991. She served as an Aviation Electronics
Technician, trouble shooting and repairing navigation,
communication and weapons systems down to the component level.
Mrs. Sutton is a member of
American Legion John A. Fader Post 114. She previously served 2
terms as Adjutant for American Legion Post 114. She is
currently a volunteer with the Ottawa County 4-H Shooting Stars.
She currently holds a position with the State of Ohio working
for the Job and Family Services Department.
Mrs. Sutton has served on the
Ottawa County Veterans Service Commission since January 2011.

Gary E. Cagle, Member Veterans of Foreign Wars
Mr. Cagle is a Vietnam War veteran having served on active duty in
the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1970. He served
as a Rifleman.
Mr. Cagle is a member of VFW Post 8732, twenty-six year member of
American Legion Post 114, American Legion Post 279, Disabled
American Veterans Post 39, and on the Board of Directors for the
Oak Harbor Public Library. He is currently Commander of VFW
Post 8732 and has been for the past five years.
Mr. Cagle has served on the Ottawa County Veterans Service
Commission since January 2013.

David L. McDougall, Member AMVETS
Mr. McDougall is a Vietnam War Veteran having served on active
duty in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973. He
served as a Communications Center Specialist.
Mr. McDougall is a member of the Easter Society of Ottawa County,
AMVETS Post 10, and Commander of American Legion Post 113.
He previously held the positions of President of the Easter
Society of Ottawa County and President of the Ottawa County Board
of Mental Retardation.
Mr. McDougall has served on the Ottawa County Veterans Service
Commission since January 1998.
